| Kaline the Goldendoodle |
This is my puppy, Kaline. He is a seven-month-old Goldendoodle and he is pretty darn cute. I thought I would start with a photo of K because he's very lovable and goofy and I'm sure you'll hear lots of stories about him and his adventures in my class. Plus, who doesn't have a soft spot for puppies?
I have created this blog for students and parents to see what we're doing in class and I will post updates from time to time sharing some of the things we will be doing in class, as well as photos and work samples (with permission). This can also be a place where parents and students alike can contact me!
I'm really looking forward to this year. I think that learning how to read and write and find joy, entertainment, encouragement, and depth of thought from doing so is one of the most important things you do in life. We will work on writing a lot this year, and students, you will feel empowered as you begin to find your own voice, master the mechanics of writing, and share your style.
Of course, there would be no writing if not for reading and so we will do plenty of that as well. My hope is to inspire a love of reading in my students. Where else can you focus on something without commercial interruptions or with more than 140 characters?? :)
