Checking in from the Young Writers Conference
Seventh graders Cathy and Kaitlyn comparing their captures.
Ted Hall began this morning by showing photos of vast spaces he's traveled to, strangers in their homes, friends, details, and explaining the effects of perspective.
A photographer can take shots from above to show the subject in a vulnerable light, below for an intimidating image, or right at eye level for a more personal, straightforward tone.
He also reminded us to take time to allow our subjects to relax, to follow the light, to use shadow to create dramatic effects, and to have fun with photography.
Crystal, Emily, and Madison Skadberg are in with Susan Power for a writing workshop and we will change places with them after lunch!
